Falls and Mobility Physiotherapy at Home
A fall, or the fear of having one, can quietly shrink someone’s world- fewer trips to the kitchen, fewer walks to the postbox, less confidence on the stairs. For many people living with a neurological condition, poor balance and reduced mobility are some of the most limiting symptoms day to day.
I provide specialist falls prevention and mobility physiotherapy at home across Tonbridge, Sevenoaks, Tunbridge Wells, Maidstone and the surrounding villages, working with you in the rooms, stairs and surfaces you actually use.
What this involves Every programme starts with a thorough assessment of your balance, strength, walking pattern and the specific situations where you feel unsteady- getting out of a chair, turning in the kitchen, managing stairs or uneven ground outside. We look at the contributing factors together: muscle weakness, sensation, vision, balance and your home environment.
Current NICE guidance on falls (NG249, 2025) identifies tailored balance and functional exercise as the intervention with the strongest evidence for reducing fall rates. I build programmes around this, with progressive exercise practised in the situations that matter to you and reviewed regularly as you improve.
Who this is for Adults with stroke, Parkinson’s, MS, brain or spinal cord injury, or other neurological conditions who have had a fall, feel unsteady, or want to build confidence moving around their home and community.
